Vaginal Health

Is it too much of a good thing?

This is a sensitive topic but I’ll just come out and say it.This article is about vaginas. If you do not want to read about vaginas please quit reading now. Specifically this article is going to explain a treatment that can tighten vaginas. I think most people, either male or female, would agree that this is a good thing. I need to start by talking about vaginal anatomy.

The vaginal region is extremely complex, so to simplify it let’s imagine a hand towel, wrapped around a thick sock and squeezed by two hands. The hands represent the pelvic floor muscles that surround the vagina. The towel represents the vaginal muscles. The sock is the mucosa membrane that lines the inside of the vagina. It consists of an epithelium and an underlying layer of connective tissue known as the lamina propria. The muscles can be strengthened with Kegel exercises, but Kegels can do nothing for the sock. The integrity of the sock can be strengthened with a treatment known as IntimiLase.

IntimaLase is a simple, non-surgical laser treatment that causes restructuring and regrowth of collagen. The result is thickening and tightening of the vaginal walls. The treatment is a walk-in, walk-out procedure that takes about 30 minutes to perform. It is also relatively comfortable. No pain medications are required. After the procedure patients can leave and carry on with their daily routines with few restrictions. The result is enhanced pleasure during intimate relations due to increased friction.

The treatment can be modified to also help women who suffer from a common condition known as Stress Urinary Incontinence. In addition to treating the entire circumference of the vagina, additional passes with the laser target the anterior wall of the vagina to strengthen the urethra. The key to success with IncontiLase is patient selection. Women who leak urine 1 to 4 times per week are generally candidates while those who leak several times a day may only hope for a degree of improvement. I women who are prone to involuntarily pee a little would agree that being dry or dryer is a good thing!

It’s too, too, too Good!

Modify the treatment again and direct the energy to the mucosa membrane inside the mouth and this remarkable treatment can also reduce or eliminate snoring. This treatment is known as NightLase. I think we can agree on this too! Getting a good night’s sleep is also a good thing!

If you would like to know if you are a candidate for IntimiLase, IncontiLase or Nightlase call and book your free consultation. As none of these treatments require us to see you in person, a telephone consultation will suffice. Ask to speak to one of our knowledgeable treatment consultants. Why not call today?

Tired of Acne and Acne Scars?

Seven ways to say “Goodbye” to Acne and Acne scarring! Acne can be disfiguring, demoralizing and frustrating.  It is common during adolescence but can strike anyone at any age.

Acne symptoms can range from an occasional zit to painful cysts.  Left untreated, it can often result in permanent scarring.  Acne scarring is difficult and sometimes impossible to erase.  Much, however, can be done to control acne and prevent acne scarring.

Do you have acne?  Do your kids have acne?  If so, I’d like to give you something to think about.  We use braces to correct or prevent crooked teeth, don’t we?  Doesn’t it make just as much sense to do what we can for Acne?  The confidence that comes with having clear, smooth, blemish-free skin is at least as important as a nice smile, don’t you think?  The value is comparable but the cost if far less.

The skin condition known as Acne Vulgaris is classified as Grades 1 through 4.  Many factors come together to cause it.  Excessive production of oil from …

Ti's the season to "Spice it Up" with a Lip Enhancement! Lips come in all shapes and sizes. Some people are born with luscious full lips. Others have naturally thin lips. A lip enhancement can be ever so subtle, or we can create a fuller lip!  A skilled cosmetic injector can shape your lips to your specifications.

Lips become irresistibly kissable!

Soft tissue fillers can be used to replace lost volume anywhere in the face. As we age we tend to lose fat volume in our faces. Our cheeks, which were full and high when we were young can sink and develop a triangular shaped flat spot that can appear shaded and grooved. Many of us lose volume in the orbits of our eyes that result in eye c…

EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT TATTOO REMOVAL… AND SHOULD ASK… BEFORE YOU GET A TATTOO!

With the recent surge in popularity of tattoos and the advancements in tattoo artistry, more and more people are opting to get tattooed.  People get tattoos for many reasons, sometimes after much thought and planning, at other times on the spur-of-the-moment.  The expectation for most is that they will love their tattoo and that they will love it forever.  Unfortunately, that is not always the case.
As the owner of a laser clinic that does a lot of laser tattoo removal I can tell you first hand that sometimes people end up hating their new tattoo from the moment it is completed.  I could tell you many stories of conversations I have had with people who are emotionally devastated when a tattoo does not turn out the way they envisioned it would.  Invariably they express shock and disappointment when they learn what is involved with getting rid of their unwanted ink.
There is a common misconception that tattoos are just as easy to get off as they are to get on.  Laser tattoo removal ha…
